How to check the status of your Absentee Ballot

The Secretary of State's website has all the information you need to find your polling place, apply for an Absentee Ballot, check on the status of your application for Absentee Ballot, or look at a sample ballot (for any party whether or not you are registered R, D, or I).

Here are the steps to apply for, or check on, your Absentee Ballot:

1  Go to the GA Secretary of State's website: https://sos.ga.gov/

2  Click on Elections (3rd tab in blue menu bar)

3  Move your cursor over Voter Info (1st tab below blue menu bar) to get a drop-down menu

4  Click on the function you want - In this example, choose My Voter Page

5  In the far right box labeled MVP Login, fill in your identifying information (First Initial, Last Name, County, Date of Birth) and click the Submit button

6  Four text boxes will appear. In the 3rd box titled Absentee Ballot Request Information, click on the bottom entry Click here for Absentee Ballot status. You'll see when your application was received, when they issued (mailed) your ballot to you, and (eventually) when they receive your Absentee Ballot. Whether you vote by mail (absentee ballot) or in person at your polling place is your choice.
